1. Who we are

OddlyWiredCo is operated by J. Wright (sole trader), at Unit 166847, PO Box 7169, Poole BH15 9EL, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for any personal data we collect about you. Contact us at hello@oddlywiredco.com for any privacy question.

2. What we collect, and why

We collect only what we need to fulfil your order, communicate with you, and run the site safely.

• Order data — name, email, shipping address, items purchased, order total. Required to ship your order.
• Payment data — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number, expiry, or CVV.
• Site analytics — aggregate page views and referrers via Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cookieless, no individual tracking.
• Email subscribers — if you subscribe, only your email address, until you unsubscribe.

3. Lawful bases

• Contract performance (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) — for processing orders and shipping.
• Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — for retaining tax records (HMRC requires 6 years).
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — for fraud prevention and analytics that improve the site.
• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for email marketing, withdrawable at any time.

4. Who we share with

• Stripe Payments Europe Ltd (Ireland, with US transfer under Stripe's Data Processing Addendum) — payment processing.
• Printify Inc. (US) and their UK/EU print providers — printing and shipping your order. They receive only the data needed to fulfil the order.
• Cloudflare Inc. (US, UK adequacy / Standard Contractual Clauses) — site hosting, DNS, CDN, analytics.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.

5. International transfers

Where data is transferred outside the UK (mainly to Stripe and Printify in the US), we rely on the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the Information Commissioner.

6. Retention

• Order and invoice records: 6 years from end of financial year (HMRC requirement).
• Email subscriber data: until you unsubscribe.
• Support emails: 2 years from last contact.
• Cloudflare analytics: 30 days, aggregate only.

7. Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies (for example, your shopping session). We do not use advertising, marketing, or third-party tracking cookies. No cookie banner is shown because no consent is required for strictly necessary cookies under PECR.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Have your data deleted (subject to legal retention)
• Restrict or object to processing
• Receive your data in portable form
• Withdraw consent for marketing at any time

9. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first — please contact us.
